IAVA member Diana Wood Conroy is a woman of many parts. As well as creating exquisite artworks she has also been involved with an archeological dig at Pafos, Cyprus for the past 20 years, through the Dept of Antiquities of Cyprus. (Pafos is 2017 European Capital of Culture. )
As artist in residence to the University of Sydney Paphos Theatre Excavation team Diana studies Roman wall paintings as well as ancient textiles. The Senior Artists Research Forum accompanied her to the excavation from the University of Wollongong in 2010.
Travellers from Australia, a group exhibition of work by Australian artists inspired by the Pafos theatre, opened on October 2. Diana is both co-curator and participant.
