IAVA members Melissa Ritchie, John Kennedy and Moira Kirkwood have enjoyed some recent successes. Melissa is included in this year’s Portia Geach Memorial Award for portraiture with her portrait of Natalie Bassingthwaighte, The washing can wait. This is Mel’s second time as an adult finalist. (She was also involved in the Youth Prize in earlier years.)
Our new member John is a semi-finalist in the prestigious Doug Moran National Portrait Prize this year with a self-portrait, Just a painting of myself.
Moira has been selected as a finalist for both the Fisher’s Ghost Art Award Open Section (for the third time) with City beside a lake, and her work Discarded plans for an entertainment complex has been accepted as a finalist in the inaugural Georges River Art Prize.
Congratulations to all three artists and good luck!
