We’re delighted to report that Melissa Ritchie has been selected as a Finalist in this year’s Kennedy Prize with her work Arsenal for today. It’s one of Mel’s characteristic pieces – meticulously created in a photo-realistic style, with bold colours and a light-hearted feel. Mel has been a finalist in portrait awards around the country in the last few years, including the 2016 Archibald Prize, Percival Portrait Prize, Black Swan Portraiture Prize, Portia Geach Memorial Award, Shirley Hannan Portrait Prize and the Kigour Prize.
The Kennedy Prize is an annual, nationwide portrait prize with first prize of $25,000. The winner will be announced 7 September. Good luck Mel!
