There are still some spaces left for Liz Jeneid’s bookmaking workshop – a great way to start the year! Learn about making a book – that could be a journal, a book about an event that has meant something to you or a response to a political situation.

Liz says: We start by making samples of books that are folded, stitched and glued to give you a vocabulary on which to draw.  And what about text? More about that in the workshop. Ways of changing the surface of paper will be explored through the use of resist and dye, stencils & the use of natural materials to make beautiful patterned papers which you can use to make covers for your book/s.

Bring ideas – bring images such as photocopies, old drawings, prints or paintings for the content of your book which will help to define the structure that will be best for the book you want to make.

Liz Jeneid has been making books since 1990. Her works are in public and private collections in Australia & overseas including the State Library of NSW & the National Library ACT
