Ken Tucker

Ken Tucker has dedicated the past 38 years to honing his craft of creating visual art.  From early on in his childhood, Ken knew he possessed the ability to draw. That essential grounding gave him a confidence to pursue his lifelong passion of painting and creating.  Primarily self-taught, Ken drew inspiration from studying techniques of the masters he greatly admired such as Monet, Streeton, Roberts and Brett Whitely.

Over the years Ken’s painting proficiency in oils and acrylics have seen him frequently awarded (e.g. The Mortimer Award) and highly sought after commissioned artist for corporate and Private Collections. He is an acclaimed muralist and in recent times has also completed a large scale sculptural projects within the Sutherland Shire. Ken has also been a guest judge at several art competitions.

As Ken’s artistic profile expands, he is regularly invited to paint for live audiences in conjunction with corporate and private events, fundraisers, charities, schools. He has assisted schools to deliver art curriculum outcomes to students K to year 12, as well as being an arts motivational speaker and children’s and adult tutor. He facilitates en plein air art tours and presents in-service/training days for corporations.

Corporations with acquisitions of Ken’s artworks include St George Bank; State Super, Parramatta; National Parks, Coonabarabran; NSW Western Tourism; Dubbo City Council; Jenolan Caves Trust; Bathurst RSL. Ken has been invited as the guest artist to numerous notable residencies including Zara Centre, Amman, Jordan; Norfolk Island; Cowra Japanese Gardens; Jenolan Caves and the Royal Botanical Gardens, Sydney.

Ken’s artworks are exhibited regularly in solo and group exhibitions in the Illawarra,
Sutherland Shire; Western NSW and on display at Two Gulls Art Studio/Gallery, Kiama Downs, NSW, that operates in partnership with his wife Lea. Ken is also represented by Gallery One88 Fine Arts Katoomba.
