I like pursuing perceptual ambiguity in a world of second-hand images. I paint the already-pictured; I preserve the distortions of lenses, mirrors, noise, and pixels; I disclose the signs of artifice. My photographs refer to photography. I re-photograph. I shoot from the hip.
I draw to research and rehearse. I make studio paintings from photographs, drawings, and collages.
The architecture of the already-pictured image provides referential boundaries within which to freely explore meaningful space, form and structure.
