Artists Statement

I am an expressive contemporary artist. I have a joy from working in a variety of genres and mediums. My creative work includes painting, drawing and collage on either canvas or paper. I work with both oils and acrylic and ink.

Over the years I have attended many workshops and courses to further expand my art practice. I have recently been painting loose expressive landscapes focusing on inspiration from my travels overseas and locally in Australia. After a trip last year to Central Australia, I have worked on a series of paintings inspired from my plein air paintings I did on that trip.

Often I use collage to create works on paper mainly of urban scenes from photographs I have taken when travelling overseas, collage adds an interesting and varied element to the works. I love working in pure abstraction creating a work intuitively and spontaneously. I have recently been working on a series of large vibrant abstract paintings in oils. These are full of color and texture.
